… and so is David Laws.
David Laws, the Government Minister (who, it should be remembered, has only recently returned to the cabinet after it was discovered that he was fiddling MP expenses to the tune of £40,000+) has said that teachers are not encouraging their pupils to aim high enough.
There is a lot that could be done better in education, but to say that teachers don’t encourage their pupils to “… aim for the stars” is simply not true. There will probably never be another time in a persons life when people (outside of family and friends) are pushing that individual to do their very best and achieve all that they can.
Sadly, it seems, this is another case of a politician trying to score cheap political points with no real understanding of the real world. I would challenge Mr Laws to reveal his evidence for such claims.
